Alabama 2010 LB nabs 2nd offer

Jake Holland is a linebacker prospect from Pelham (Ala.) High School for the Class of 2010. Holland, 6-1 and 215 pounds, picked up his second scholarship offer this past week.
"Duke offered me last Thursday," Holland said. "I talked with coach (David) Cutcliffe and he said they would send me a written offer. I really like them and I am thinking of taking a trip up there. Duke has a great school and they are in the ACC. I also know their defense is pretty good. Other than that I don't know that much about them although I knew a offer could happen. It was still a surprise."

This past weekend Holland went to the Ole Miss/Alabama game in Tuscaloosa. It was his first game this season to watch the Crimson Tide.
"Alabama invited me to the game and I had a lot of fun. I saw the weight room and facilities. I talked with coach (Kevin) Steele and their strength coach. They said they would stay in touch with me and to keep evaluating me."
Right now UAB, Duke, FSU, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest and Alabama are on Holland's short list. UAB has also offered him a scholarship. Pelham is 6-2 on the season and they take on Hoover (Ala.) High School this weekend. On the year he has 105 tackles.
