"He just took his visit up there and met the staff," he said. "He just kind of fell in love with it. Akron came in really aggressive and he felt at home."
What are they getting in Scott?
"He's got tremendous upside to him," he said. "He came from Thomas Johnson High School in Maryland and things worked out well.
"He's going to be an exciting player for Akron. They are transitioning to a new coach, but I think he can definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the MAC conference."
Meanwhile, teammate, offensive tackle Rodney Carroll also decided today for Akron.
"He had offers from Howard, Hampton, Delaware State, Bethune-Cookman, but once again took a visit to Akron and committed," Davis said. "Once again, it was the play. He fell in love with the place and the atmosphere. They have nice facilities and he liked everything there."
Carroll, a 6-foot-6, 300-pounder is a talent according to his coach.
"Carroll's got tremendous upside to him," he said. "He's a really physical runner and will be a great addition to the Zips."
