Akingbulu adds Cal to list

During a recent passing league tournament held at Gardena (Calif.) Serra, the linemen also got to compete and Alex Akingbulu was tested by one of the best in the region.
The four-star offensive tackle from Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne battled four-star defensive end Oluwole Betiku and for Akingbulu, who's still just getting started with football, it was an excellent experience.

"It's very, very, very important to do this," Akingbulu said.
"I just wanted to measure myself especially against Wole, that's like college-type material right there. I just wanted to see how I need to get better and stronger. I'm just working."
The 6-foot-6, 265-pound recruit is also working on his recruitment.
UCLA, Michigan and Utah stood out as the top three for the Harbor City Narbonne prospect but now a fourth school has entered the fray.
"It's still the same and then Cal is in there," Akingbulu said. "Utah and Cal are basically tied. Cal is still there.
"I love the education. It's one of the best colleges. It's a great education there so it's something I'm really looking for."
Akingbulu has already taken unofficial visits to Michigan and Utah but surprisingly hasn't taken an extensive trip over to UCLA.
The Bruins could emerge as the frontrunner if he likes what he sees in Westwood but at this point, the four-star recruit is not rushing a decision.
"I'm just trying to focus on school," Akingbulu said. "I'm trying to get finals done and then I'll move on from there."
