Akers lines up first visit

Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty Union three-star defensive end Matt Akers is already considered one of the best defensive ends in the West.
The 6-foot-3, 240-pounder picked up early scholarship offers from Colorado State, San Diego State and Fresno State, plus he's continued to receive heavy interest from other teams like Ole Miss, Utah and Washington State.

Now the nation's No. 25 strongside defensive end and No. 96 player in California has lined up his first official visit.
"Matt has scheduled an official visit to Fresno State on Nov. 24th," Aker's father, Jim, said.
"That's the weekend that Fresno plays host to Kansas State."
Akers has done a nice job this season with 40 tackles, 6.7 tackles a game and 10 sacks, despite getting numerous double and even some triple teams.
His biggest game of the year came against Foothill when he had 10 tackles. He also had nine tackles and two sacks in the season opener against Clovis West.
