Ajagbe names two favorites

Gideon Ajagbe will be one of the top defensive prospects from South Florida in the Class of 2010. Ajagbe, 6-1 1/2 and 195 pounds, is a two-way standout at running back and linebacker for Coconut Grove (Fla.) Ranson Everglades High School.
"I think I bring a strong presence on the outside. I make sure nobody gets outside of me. I close well to the ball and can make the big hit. I can cover and I am a sure tackler.

"I do need to work on not biting on plays. Sometimes I can be over-aggressive. So I guess need to play with more discipline."
He has rushed for 1,020 yards and 11 scores and has over 50 tackles this season. They are a disappointing 5-4 on the season.
"We started off good but dropped off big time," Ajagbe said. "We were 5-0 and then lost a heart breaker. Now we are 5-4 and in a slump. It's a bad four game losing streak."
According to Ajagbe he has scholarship offers from UCF, Florida International, FSU, and Boston College. From this list of football programs two stand out.
"I would say Central Florida and Florida are my top two schools right now. I love the coaches there at UCF. They believe in God and I am religious so I take that to heart
"Coach (Vance) Bedford has been recruiting me hard for Florida. It's an honor for me that any coach from Florida would come to my school. We are a small private school and I take that seriously too. They have a big interest in me.
"Being comfortable and education will be the two biggest things for me. Of course I want to play but I know that will come. I want to learn both on and off the field"
Ajagbe has been to several games this season; Miami/Florida, South Carolina State/Central Florida, Wake Forest/Miami, Charleston Southern/Miami and North Carolina/Miami. Ranson Glades close their season this weekend with Arch Bishop Curley.
