AhMu enjoys visit to Oregon

San Diego (Calif.) Serra defensive lineman Fevaea'i AhMu took his fifth and final official visit to Oregon this past weekend. Although the trip got off to a somewhat rocky start due to airline problems, the Ducks still made a good enough impression to land in the tackle’s top two.
AhMu, 6-0, 300 pounds and the No. 1 rated defensive tackle in the state has previously visited Arizona, Washington State, Colorado and San Diego State.

“I flew from San Diego in to San Francisco and was supposed to land in Oregon around 1:00,” AhMu said. “The problem was, the fog was so thick, I had three different flights canceled and didn’t get in to Eugene until around 10:30. I still went out that night with my hosts who were David Faaateete and Thor Pili and I got along really well with both guys.
“A lot of the players had gone back home and there weren’t too many people on campus but I still really liked it a lot out there. I did the usual things you do on all the visits, toured the campus, checked out the football facilities, met with the academic advisers and spent a lot of time with the coaches.
“Since I got in so late on Friday, I had to pack everything in on Saturday. I had breakfast with Coach Belotti at his house and then toured the campus and saw the football facilities. The locker rooms were the best I’ve seen. They were sweet and the weight room was pretty cool too although Washington State has probably the best weight room I’ve seen so far.
“I spent a lot of time with all the coaches but especially Coach Greatwood who is the defensive line coach. He told me their line will be strong next year but he still thinks I can come in and get in to the rotation. Haloti (Ngata) is coming back and David will probably start next to him. After that, it’s pretty open and I’ll have a chance to play a lot if I’m ready and produce in practice.
“Right now, Oregon and Washington State are my two leaders but I haven’t ruled out San Diego State or Colorado either. Coach Wilson from Colorado came in to the home tonight and my whole family really liked him a lot. Oregon and Washington State will be coming over tomorrow and then San Diego State will be over on Thursday. I hope to make my decision by Saturday or Sunday.”
