Ahmed makes plans to announce official visits

Four-star athlete Salvon Ahmed is not hurting for options. The Kirkland (Wash.) Juanita High School prospect holds offers rom nearly every Pac 12 program. It’s part of why he’s hesitant to name frontrunners. That, it seems, will come in short order.

“I’m going to take my officials in fall,” Ahmed said. “I’m going to make my top five and announce that at the opening. I know who is in the running to get them, but I’m going to wait to say anything.”

The Rivals250 prospect works hard to preserve mystery. He says very little despite using plenty of words. And when asked which schools are in the most frequent contact, he presents a long list.

“I talk to a lot of the Pac 12, so, like, Washington a lot, Oregon, Stanford, Cal and UCLA. I talk to a lot of coaches from UCLA. Most of my offers are from the Pac 12 sand the only one I’m missing from the Pac 12 is Colorado.”

Ahmed is ranked as the No. 241 prospect in the class of 2017. Certain schools have recruited Ahmed to play on both sides of the ball and special teams. Stanford, among others, would prefer him to play strictly running back.

IN HIS WORDS: “I’m most likely going to stay on the west coast. Well, in the west. I’ll be committing to a school at the end of September, though.”

RIVALS REACTION: UCLA, Washington and Stanford seem like locks to make Ahmed’s top five. USC will likely make the cut as well. It’s hard to project where he’ll land, however, as so much of his recruitment will hinge on his upcoming official visits. Oregon is also in play, as is Notre Dame. Ahmed has gone out of his way to be mysterious, and it’s working to some degree.
