Ah You taking things slow

Chaz Ah You isn't quite ready to narrow his list of schools, mostly because he has yet to land all the scholarship offers he covets heading into his junior year.
The four-star prospect from Saratoga Springs (Utah) Westlake does hold four schools in high regard, though, and is hopeful they can see him in action at defensive back this year. Ah You, an early Rivals100 member for the 2017 class, played quarterback for his high school out of necessity last season.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect holds offers from BYU, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Utah, Utah State and Washington.
"I love all the schools that have offered me and are still recruiting me," Ah You said. "When it's my senior year, I will sit down with my family and discuss what schools and programs will best help me achieve all my athletic, academic and social goals. Until then, I am open to every school that is willing to recruit me."
When he was younger, Ah You made a list of schools he dreamed of playing for. There were over a dozen programs on that list, but Oklahoma State was not one of those. The Cowboys are definitely in there now.
"Although my uncle CJ played against them in the Bedlam Rivalry when he played for Oklahoma, I wasn't too familiar with Oklahoma State growing up," Ah You said. "They sure have made an immediate impact on me. Coach (Tim) Duffie and coach (Beni) Tonga have been awesome. Their facilities are incredible and I really enjoyed my unofficial visit."
Oklahoma, Oregon, UCLA and USC are four schools that have yet to offer, but Ah You remains very interested in them nonetheless. He visited the Bruins and Trojans about two months ago and had a great time getting a closer look at the programs.
"At UCLA, I loved the campus and coach (Taylor) Mazzone is a stud," Ah You said. "I really loved the feeling when I visited there; there aren't too many places in the country like Southern California. The Bruins, with coach Jim Mora, are a team that is always going be in the hunt for Pac-12 championships. They, along with other schools, want to see playing more safety. Next year I will be playing both safety and quarterback.
"USC is another of my dream schools that haven't offered me yet. The tradition of USC speaks for itself. There is definitely a swagger when you step on their campus and tour their facilities. Coach (Marques) Tuiasosopo is such a cool coach, and I really enjoyed visiting and getting to meet their coaches."
Ah You mentioned Oregon's uptempo style and bevy of uniform combinations as attractive selling points. He hopes to visit there at some point this year.
It's still early, but the Sooners would appear to be the frontrunners given his connection to the program.
"I grew up watching my uncle CJ play there and I have always wanted to follow in his footsteps," Ah You said. "The tradition of Oklahoma speaks for itself and of all my dream schools that have not offered yet, I am most familiar with OU. I love coach (Jerry) Schmidt, their strength and conditioning coach, and how he squeezes every ounce of talent and effort out of his players. That is important to me. I want to play for a program that knows how to get everything out of me. I know OU is one of those schools."
Ah You passed for 1,020 yards and 15 touchdowns, and rushed for 503 yards as a sophomore last season.
