Add another Texas star to OSUs list

As expected, Oklahoma State has added another talented prospect from the Houston area. This time the Cowboys dipped into the Sugar Land area, picking up a commitment from one of the area's big-time sleeper defensive end prospects.
Shane Jarka of Sugar Land (Texas) Austin committed to Oklahoma State on his unofficial visit Thursday. He had to get that certain someone's approval before pulling the trigger.

"My dad loved it up here even before we saw everything today," Jarka said on his cell phone from Stillwater. "My mom wanted me to think through everything. I saw her reaction that she really loved it. I really did it today because my mom was happy about it. I've wanted to commit for some time now.
"I got to meet some of the Texas guys up here and they told me how much they like it in Stillwater. That made me feel good and at home."
Jarka, who is 6-foot-3 and 228-pounds, was an honorable mention, all district selection as a junior in a senior-laden district. While he is focused on the upcoming season, he was glowing about his decision.
"I love the coaches and have a real connection with them," he said. "Coach (Joe) DeForest showed us around today and all of the new development. I'm really looking forward to it.
"They really haven't talked with me about redshirting next year, but they are going to see how I develop," he said.
Chalk this Cowboy commitment to good old mom.
