Add another four-star to UGAs list

Georgia has just landed their fourth commitment for the class of 2004 at the position of quarterback. It may come as a shock to find out which signal caller pulled the trigger and extended his commitment to the Bulldog family.
“I committed to Georgia last night,” said Baldwyn, Miss., pro-style quarterback Blake Barnes.

“I've been over there a couple of times for camps and stuff and loved it, but wanted to go back on an unofficial and see everything one more time. I felt a couple of weeks ago that it might be the place for me, but I wasn't completely sure, but I am now.”
Barnes is ranked as the nation’s No. 8 pro-style quarterback and is a four-star prospect, according to Rivals.com.
The 6-foot-3, 218 pounds connected on 103 of 202 passes for 2,438 yards, 37 touchdowns and only nine interceptions. Barnes runs a 4.7 40-yard dash. As a sophomore, Barnes passed for 2,138 yards, 25 touchdowns and six picks.
“I called Coach Bobo, and then I called Coach Richt and told him,” he said. “They told me how excited they were to have me and that I was just the quarterback they were looking for.”
Barnes chose the Bulldogs over Michigan, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
“My parents and I were discussing it on the way home last night and we all just it agreed it was the place I needed to be,” he said. “I prayed about it and everything and that was where God was leading me. Coach Richt and the whole staff run such a good, clean program and they are such Godly people and Georgia is where I need to be.”
What lead to the commitment?
“”I talked with Coach Richt and Coach Bobo a lot yesterday about the things they were interested in doing and it just felt right,” Barnes said. “I’ve visited a lot of places over the summer and everything, but no where I visited felt like Georgia did. I made the right decision and I’m looking forward to being a Bulldog.”
Barnes is also solid in the weight room where he bench press 260-pounds and squats 415-pounds, and sports a 4.7 40-yard dash.
With 3.8 GPA and 21 ACT, Barnes projects as a full qualifier. He plans to major in business.
