This summer Adams attended camps at Alabama and Mississippi State, and both left favorable impressions on the young man.
"Alabama, it was a great experience up there," Adams said. "The coaches like me up there and everything went pretty well up there. They have the new athletic facility and weight room and all of that and the intensity and the drills and everything went real well there."
A few things also stood out about his trip to Starkville.
"Well, my brother (Nelson Adams) is up there," Adams said. "I had a great time up there. I know all the coaches. Everything was pretty right up there. I have a great bond with all the coaches, the new d-line coach, (defensive line) coach (David) Turner, I liked him pretty well."
In addition to his Mississippi State offer and interest from Alabama, Adams has also been hearing from Ole Miss, Georgia, and Tennessee. It is still early in the process but he does have a few visits in mind for the fall of 2013.
"Yeah I'm supposed to be going to a Georgia game, State, Ole Miss…I know for sure I'll be going to one of those games," Adams said.
What about favorites?
"As of right now I don't but Alabama and Georgia have been at me pretty hard right now," Adams said. "I don't have a school that's really standing out right now. I'm still young, I'm just getting ready for my junior season, so I'm taking it slow a little bit."
When it comes to the 2013 season, the expectations are high in Brandon. The Bulldogs are coming off a 14-3 season in 2012 which saw them play in the 6A State Championship game. Adams and his teammates look to claim the title in 2013, and the standout defender has a few things he has been working to improve.
"This season I'm just working on coming off the ball hard and using my hands and taking on the double team," Adams said.
As a sophomore, he totaled 136 tackles and six sacks.
