Adams announces new top five

Elkin, N.C. linebacker Terry Adams has mostly been preparing this summer to get ready for next season. The 5-foot-11, 212-pounder went on to explain what he's been up to.
"I'm just training and conditioning myself for the season, I've got to stay in shape," he said. "I've mostly been lifting weights and training with my uncle."

One thing the prospect did take in this summer was a visit to Virginia.
"I didn't really participate, but I went to a 7-on-7 there and that was about it," he said. "I really liked it there, it's a nice school. Coach Rocco didn't have a lot of time to see me because so many camps were going on, but it still interested me. The told me that they plan on coming by my school later this season and hopefully I'll take an official there."
Adams still holds a lone offer from North Carolina State. The linebacker is considering a trip to Wake Forest in the next week or two.
"I might go to Wake Forest, but other than that I don't have any other visits planned. I'll probably wait for my officials," he said. "I just want to go see the school one more time and see how the new remodeling looks and turned out."
Adams came out with an updated top five that includes North Carolina State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Texas and Florida State.
"There are a lot of players I've talked to from those schools and I've been thinking about them a little bit more than the rest, but there's a lot of schools I like."
The prospect hasn't considered much in relation to official visits.
"I'm going to wait until school starts and then name my visits," he said. "I'll most likely go on all five visits whenever it's convenient for me. I'm thinking of deciding maybe at the end of my senior year, there's no reason to rush. I just want to wait and mellow out and then a decision will come."
This season Adams will be playing both ways.
"I'm going to be at tight end and defensive tackle," he said. "I'm just looking to be a playmaker the whole game. I want to come up and do things I haven't done before and get myself better. I'm looking forward to an outstanding year and improving myself two times better as a playmaker and leader."
Adams certainly has the potential as he racked up 150 tackles and 20 sacks last season. He went on to be named first team all-state and conference player of the year.
