Acy planning visits

Dallas (Texas) Wilmer-Hutchins safety DeMarkus Acy has a top three of Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech, but he is not done looking at his other options.
"Actually I'm looking at some other schools outside that top three," Acy said. "I've been looking at more of Kansas State, Kansas, SMU, and schools like that. Arkansas has been pushing pretty hard. They've been recruiting me pretty hard. I haven't really gotten in contact with one of their coaches, but they send me a lot of mail. They just sent me an invitation to one of their games."

His top three remain at the top of his list right now, and there are several reasons each program has his attention.
Texas: "Just the overall prestige of the school, good academics. They brought in a lot of good DBs in the 2015 class, and I feel its one of the best in the nation. I'd love to work with those guys and get better. Coach Strong, I'm building a relationship with him. There's a lot of things going into it."
Oklahoma: "I just feel like Oklahoma puts a lot of players, especially defensive backs, in position to succeed. They produce a lot of NFL defensive backs. I just see me being real productive down there."
Texas Tech: "Just their whole energy. Their whole coaching staff, I feel like they're really going to do something right now and have a turn around season. They have the most 2016 commitments I think with like 26. They're really turning the program around I feel like. I can hop on that train and we can do something special."
Acy has an official visit scheduled to Oklahoma (Oct. 2), and he knows he would like to take official visits to Texas Tech and Kansas State. He does not have any unofficial visits on his schedule at this time.
As a junior in 2013, Acy recorded 89 tackles (47 solos, 42 assists), two TFLs, an interception, and 10 PBUs on his way to first-team all-district honors.
