ACC interest for Carolina QB

Landrum (S.C.) quarterback Mark Cann has seen his recruiting gain some steam in recent weeks. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder has had a parade of coaches visit his high school since the evaluation period began. His film seems to have caught the eye of one ACC program.
"N.C. State came by last week and they seem to be very interested," Cann said. "It was a surprise for them to come by. That isn't one of the places I have visited unofficially.

"They are a good program, though. They just had the No. 1 overall draft pick."
Wolfpack offensive coordinator Marc Trestman sat in the office of Landrum head coach John Cann (Mark's father) last Friday and watched film on the young signal caller for a good two hours.
"He took some of my film back with him and is going to show it to the other coaches and to (head coach) Chuck Amato," Mark Cann said.
Other schools have been in as well, including Vanderbilt (Jimmy Kiser), South Carolina Fred Chatham, Tennessee John Chavis and Georgia Tech (Brian Jean-Mary).
"Most of them just say that they want to see me at their camp," Cann said.
Cann plans to attend the Gainesville NIKE Camp May 20 on the campus of the University of Florida. He also is planning to attend individual camps at Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Alabama, N.C. State, Georgia and Georgia Tech.
While he waits on his first scholarship offer, he continues to be wide-open with regards to his college choice.
"I'm just real wide-open right now," he said. "I grew up pulling for Georgia, so they are always up there, but I'm just waiting to see what happens."
Cann threw for 1,988 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2005.
