ACC, Big Ten show interest in Davidson

Alexandria (Va.) St. Stephen's defensive tackle Ian Davidson has received interest from much of the ACC and a little bit of the Big Ten. Does the 6-foot-3, 260-pounder have any early favorites?
"He's getting a lot of interest from Maryland, Boston College, Duke, Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Virginia and North Carolina State," said St. Stephen's head coach Gary Schnell. "I'm not sure exactly how serious all those schools are, but they are sending a lot of mail. At the moment, I don't see Ian favoring anybody at all. He is wide open at this time."

What makes the defensive tackle stand out among other linemen in the 2007 class?
"Ian uses his hands really well and is very athletic," he said. "He can move well for a big guy and I think he's going to continue to get better. He is very physical and still growing into his body. Ian is also a smart young man and is a real good person to be around."
Besides that, Davidson is a standout wrestler for St. Stephen's as well.
"He was named all-league heavyweight wrestler and finished third in the state amongst private schools," he said. "Recently he took in a tournament and finished second overall."
This spring Davidson plans to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State along with summer camps at Boston College and Maryland.
