Abrams sounds like he's put recruiting on the back burner for now
in order to focus on helping his team defend the Class 6A state championship.
"Nothing has really changed with me lately," said the 6-foot, 190-pound
standout. "I've just been working hard and getting myself ready for the season.
I'm real excited about getting back on the field, playing our first game (Aug.
30)."
Abrams, a member of the Rivals.com Florida Top 100
team, rushed for 960 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. Those figures,
combined with his clutch performances in the playoffs, have led to early
scholarship offers from LSU, South Carolina, Purdue and Indiana.
He's also receiving heavy interest from "just about all the
SEC schools," Notre Dame, Clemson and Miami.
"I don't have a favorite right now," he said. "They're all
just about even until I get a chance to go make some visits. I'm going to start
narrowing my list down for that sometime soon."
