A shift for Louisiana QB

The firing of several staff members who were recruiting
him at Southern Miss has led to a change of plans for Lafayette (La.)

quarterback
Jefferies Tatford.
"I was all set to go over there this weekend, but things
kind of changed when coach (Chad) O'Shea and a couple of their other coaches
were let go," he said. "I'm not real sure where I stand with them right now. I
believe they have one quarterback already, and they may not be looking for
another, so I need to keep my options open."
Tatford (6-4, 212, 4.63) will visit UL-Monroe on Jan.
17. He's also in the process of setting up visits for Army and Navy. Middle Tennessee is another possibility.
He also has a baseball offer from Louisiana Tech, among
a few others, and noted he may start leaning toward that route.
As a senior, Tatford led St. Thomas More to a 10-3
record and the quarterfinals of the Louisiana Class 4A playoffs. He passed for
1,633 yards and 12 touchdowns in his first season as a starter.
