A pair of offers for Christy

Geismar (La.) Dutchtown wide receiver Shelby Christy watched five-star teammate Landon Collins go through the hectic recruiting process this past season and now it is his turn. In fact, the 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect recently picked up his first two offers.
"I've gotten offers from UL and Mississippi State," Christy said on Monday evening. "The UL one came in last Monday and Mississippi State came in this morning.

"I had been hearing from both schools a lot but it still surprised me a bit. The coach at Mississippi State messaged me on Facebook and told me that he showed my tape the wide receivers coach and he really wanted to offer me once he saw a couple plays."
In addition to those two programs, Christy feels he is on the verge of offers from a pair of others as well.
"LSU and Georgia Tech I think are close (to offering)," he said. "I've been to all the junior days at LSU and their really interested in me. I think they're waiting it out until the summer though.
"Georgia Tech, they told me their only offering two or three wide receivers and I'm probably one of them. They just want me to come down there to visit. They're probably going to offer me if I come down there.
"I hope Alabama offers too. I just like the way they play and I'm close friends with Landon Collins too. He really wants me to play with him."
Though it is still very early in the process, Christy does admit that one school has caught his eye.
"I really like Mississippi State," he said. "I like the way they run the spread and how they're coming up. I just feel like I can go to that school and have a big impact on them coming up to the top."
