A pair of Midwest visits await Mays

We caught up briefly with the father of Seattle (Wash.) O'Dea safety Taylor Mays to see how close the talented athlete was to narrowing his list of schools down. The last time we spoke with Mays, at the Nike camp at Stanford back in May, he said he was hopeful of narrowing things down to two by the first of August.
"That's still the plan," Stafford Mays, Taylor's father said. "We're going to Michigan in two weeks on an unofficial visit and Taylor also said he wants to check out Notre Dame as well. So I need to see if we can fit that visit in but when we return from Michigan, the plan is to narrow his list down at that point."

Mays, 6-3, 220 pounds is the top rated player in the West region this year and was the MVP of the Nike camp at Stanford. He's a talented safety with very good cover skills and the frame to grow in to a linebacker if so needed by his school of choice.
"Taylor is still looking at USC, Washington, Cal, Stanford and Oklahoma right now," Stafford said. "It's going to be interesting to see how he connects with all the schools."
We'll catch up with Taylor himself following his Midwest visits to see how the trips went and who is looking good for those last two spots on his list. Mays is still hoping to make his college choice sometime in August.
