A new DB in Georgia has emerged

There is a name to know in the state of Georgia. David Daniel is in the middle of his sophomore year at Woodstock High School and he has created quite a buzz over the last week.

LSU was first to offer. Duke, Florida, Michigan, Mississippi State, Virginia and Wake Forest all offered last week as well. More are to come.

The 6-foot-2, 180 pound safety is a 2021 prospect with size, speed and academics. He moved from Miami Gardens (Fla.) to Georgia in the middle of his eighth grade year and his recruitment is taking off.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"I have been giving my best efforts and I am surprised by these offers," said Daniel. "God has it all and He has given me the traits and the ability to do what I do. I have always expected myself to be a good football player, but I did not expect offers like this, this quick.

"LSU was my first offer and they have a good program. I do not know a lot about them other than Leonard Fournette, Jarvis Landry and some of their offensive stars.

"I went to Duke a week ago and it was a great experience. They made me feel at home. I talked to a few players, I watched the game and I got to go into the locker room after the game. I will be back there in January for a Junior Day.

"I went to Mississippi State Saturday and it was nice. The staff was very welcoming and when I met with coach Bob Shoop, he offered me.

"I do not know too much about many schools yet. I am looking forward to finding out more. I am really in awe right now of everything. I did not know I would be in this position at this time and I am just thankful. I am thankful for my family too, for keeping me in check.

"I grew up in Florida, so Miami was my favorite school. I am looking at everyone now though. I am getting out, seeing who treats me well and how the coaches are with their players. I am just trying to live in the moment and enjoy all of this."

RIVALS REACTION

Daniel's sophomore film is getting out and offers are starting to roll in. It was a big 24 hours last week from Tuesday to Wednesday. His first three offers rolled in, in that span. He will add many more. Clemson is his next stop. He will be there Saturday. Do not expect Daniel to name favorites any time soon. He is taking it all in right now and will take his time with the recruiting process.
