A.J. still checking his list

Winston-Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor linebacker A.J. Nicholson is still weighing his options - and he has plenty of solid ones to weigh.
Nicholson said he's still interested in Florida State, Tennessee, Miami and North Carolina. He also visited Texas early in the recruiting process, but he said both teams have parted ways.

That leaves it down to an impressive four-team battle for one of the nation's top five linebackers.
"I don't like to claim a leader, because I don't want to look like I'm going back and forth between all of the teams," Nicholson said. "Which is basically what I'm doing. These schools are all great and I can see myself fitting in there right away."
The most recent visit on Nicholson's mind was a solid trip to Miami this past weekend.
"I really enjoyed it," he said. "The facilities are great down there and there is a great sense of friendship between the players. The beaches and the women weren't too bad either."
Nicholson is now set to visit Tennessee this upcoming weekend and then North Carolina on Feb. 1.
"I hope to see some of the same things at Tennessee that I saw at Miami and Florida State," Nicholson said. "I know they don't have beaches, but I hear it's a great environment and they have some of the best facilities in the nation.
"It's kind of funny that Carolina gets the last visit. I didn’t' think it would work out that way, but it did since there are only so many weekends you take trips. I'm excited to go back over there and see what's up."
