A birthday present for mom

Today was a good day for Toney Moore and his mother Keisha. You see it was mom's birthday and on her birthday Toney received something special in the mail, his first scholarship offer. Moore, a linebacker from West Palm Beach (Fla.) King's Academy, was offered by Syracuse.
"I was pretty happy and very excited about it," Moore said. "I wasn't sure if Syracuse would offer or not but it came today and it was just a great surprise. As soon as I got it I called her. She was so excited and very happy for me. It was a great present for my mom on her birthday."

Moore, who played defensive end last season as a junior, recorded 75 tackles and 15 sacks. At 6-1 and 210 pounds, Moore is a speedy linebacker prospect that the Orangemen would love to pull from the state of Florida.
"I know Syracuse is a great school with great academics. I know they have the facilities and I wouldn't mind playing for them at all. I am planning to go there this summer and check them out. I have met some of the coaches before and I know it's a good program. They send people to the NFL.
"Right now I am just kind of waiting to see what else comes in."
According to Moore, Tennessee, LSU, USC, Miami, UCF, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas are some of the schools that are showing interest in him.
"Tennessee came by and LSU and USC are supposed to be at our spring game tomorrow (vs Suncoast). I like all of these schools and just want to wait and see what happens. I really couldn't even narrow it down to be honest with you. I guess I will wait and see who offers."
Moore has taken trips to Florida Atlantic, Miami and Florida. He may camp at Texas and Oklahoma this summer.
