"I thought it was real, real nice," five star linebacker Derrick Pope said of his official visit to Michigan State.
"From the stuff I saw, there were a lot of positives. I like coach (Bobby) Williams. I got a taste of the fans at the Michigan State-Illinois basketball game. Right now Michigan State is my favorite."

Pope, a 6-foot-0 and 223 pounder at Garden City (Kan.) Community College, was hosted on his visit to Michigan State by Josh Shaw.
Pope had previously visited Alabama and Arkansas. His Michigan State visit was a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday visit.
