5-star Toliver talks official visits

Five-star defensive back and long-time LSU commitment Kevin Toliver II of Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian is already three official visits deep into the final stretch of his recruiting process, his most recent this past Saturday when he was in Tallahassee for the Wake Forest-Florida State game. He's also officially visited Virginia Tech and Ohio State.
Toliver plans for his remaining official visits to be to LSU for its game against Alabama and to UCLA for its game against USC. Joining Toliver for the Bruins game will be Trinity Christian teammates Kendrick Norton and Jeffery Holland.

Here's what Toliver had to say about each of his five official visits.
Virginia Tech at Ohio State, Sept. 6 (Hokies won 35-21): "I enjoyed Ohio State. It was a tough loss but at the same time I still enjoyed myself and chilled with the players after the game. I don't know where I stand with Ohio State at this point."
Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech, Sept. 20 (Jackets won 27-24): "They run a lot of press man. On my visit they ran man the whole game. They just really stood out. I talked to Kendall Fuller and that was the person I hung out with after the game that night. So you know, I hung out with him and asked him some questions and we just talked. He said it all starts in the film room. You have to pay attention in the film room and just listen to what the coaches had to say. I really enjoyed myself."
Wake Forest at Florida State, Oct. 4 (Seminoles won 43-3): "I enjoyed myself at Florida State. I got to talk to the players after the game and hang out with the players and talk to the coaches. I like them. They've got a good chance."
Alabama at LSU, Nov. 8: "I'm still 100 percent with LSU. Nothing's changed and I've still got an official visit to take there when they play Alabama so we'll see how everything goes. I just want to talk to the coaches and hang out with the players."
USC at UCLA, Nov. 22: "I just want to enjoy my time and talk to the coaches, talk to the players and get a feel for what it's like to be out there."
Toliver also said the current state of a program in terms of wins and losses won't weigh on his final decision on whether to remain committed to the Tigers.
"It's no factor at the end of the day," he said. "You just have to go with the relationship you have with the coaches and the scheme they run on defensive, and see if you can see yourself playing in that defense."
Toliver's top factor is the program's plan on how he'll be used within a given system.
"How they use me on defense," he said. "That's the biggest thing. My strength is press man coverage."
