Rodrique Wright said: "I was really impressed that Bob Stoops actually made the visit and he showed the national championship ring he has."
The Oklahoma head coach made an in-home visit this past week.
This top ranked lineman is looking for a winning tradition and a depth chart that will allow for playing time.
His top five teams are Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M. At this time, Texas is still his narrow favorite.
"I don't know if they'd be the one I choose, if I had to choose today, because Oklahoma is a real close second," he said.
Wright has visits lined up for Texas on Dec. 14, Tennessee for Jan. 11 and Oklahoma sometime in January, though he couldn't remember the day.
"Bob Stoops with Oklahoma commented on the national championship and not talking about it, but doing it and that impressed me," Wright said. "So he would have to be the most impressive coach that I've talked to so far."
The 6-foot-5, 330-pound defensive tackle from Alief (Texas) Hastings had 81 tackles, five sacks, 10+ hurries, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
