5-star CB talks recruiting

Greg Reid is one hot commodity. This five-star cornerback prospect from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes County High School is now one of the hottest prospects in the nation. Reid committed to Florida back in the early spring. He had a fantastic fall and was named the Georgia Player of the Year. During the post-season he was the MVP of two all-star games. During the week of the Under Armour All-American Game, Reid decided to open things back up in recruiting. Since then, all heck has broke loose for Reid.
"It's been good and it's been bad with all this attention," Reid said. "I never could have imagined. My phone won't stop ringing and I am hearing from all of the schools."

This season Reid had nine interceptions and had 102 yard fumble return for a score. Offensively, he rushed for 1,242 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on 118 carries. That's an MVP season.
"That was special, winning that. But we didn't win state so I feel like I didn't do enough to help my team."
After Lowndes County was upset in the state quarterfinals, Reid set his sights for two all-stars games, the North-South (Game) game and Under Armour. He more than held his own and was the game's MVP in both.
"I wish they had the Under Armour Game every month," Reid said jokingly. "I like playing against people from all across the country. I like playing against receivers that are bigger, faster and supposedly better than me. I like playing the underdog. I went down there and felt like I had something to prove. I worked hard in practice and I gained a lot of confidence. You have to have confidence to play this position (cornerback)."
With National Signing Day 20 days away, recruiting becomes front and center once again for Reid. No longer committed to Florida, Reid is checking out three other schools and the Gators – Florida State, Alabama and Georgia.
"With Florida, I feel like I committed to them way too early. I need to just make sure and check out some other schools.
"But I like Florida. They are my favorite team and I have been to all their home games the last two years. I like the coaching staff and everything about them. But I just need to make sure."
Reid took his first official visit last weekend and that was to FSU. He walked away very impressed with the Seminoles.
"It was fun and I love the coaching staff at FSU. I love everything about Tallahassee. Mickey Andrews and Jimbo Fisher are both good people. I met coach Bobby and his wife made the best red velvet cake I have ever had. Gerald (Demps) is going there and we are good friends but he knows I will make my own decision."
Reid's will likely visit Alabama or Mississippi State on January 23rd (1-23) and Georgia (1-30).
"I'll let you know on Monday if I will visit either Bama or Mississippi State. I like them both and they have both started to recruit me.
"Georgia has been recruiting me all along. I like the coaching staff and I have a lot of friends there. There are many people here at Lowndes that are Georgia fans. I am ready and excited to take that visit."
Reid will make his decision the day before Signing Day, February 3rd a Austin's Steakhouse in Valdosta. Who will it be?
"Right now I am open and everyone is on equal footing. Playing early and depth charts will be important. So will academics."
