THE FIVE-STAR

As a recruit: Jackson, one of the most sought-after prospects in the the star-studded 2014 class, took official visits to Florida State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and LSU before announcing for the Trojans on National Signing Day.

What he did this week: Jackson has already established himself as one of the nation’s most exciting player. Saturday night he came through when it mattered most in the Trojans' upset of No. 4 Washington. Jackson finished the game with two interceptions, including the game-clincher in the fourth quarter, and also had three tackles and a pass break up. He has played up to his ranking and it will be interesting to see how his skills translate to the next level.

THE FOUR-STAR

As a recruit: Peterman was believed to be the man who could turn things around in Knoxville when he signed with Tennessee in 2012. But his career never really got off the ground with the Vols and he transferred to Pitt following the 2014 season.

What he did this week: Peterman played a vital role as his Pittsburgh team handed a stunning upset to No. 2 Clemson 43-42 on Saturday night. His stat line was one for the ages as he threw for 308 yards and five touchdowns. Peterman is having a career year as a senior and finally living up to his four-star billing.

THE THREE-STAR

As a recruit: Lindsay had just two offers as a high school prospect and chose the Buffaloes over Utah, committing nearly a year before Signing Day 2013. He only officially visited Boulder and never wavered on his commitment.

What he did this week: As a redshirt junior, Lindsay has played a major role in the turnaround in Boulder. On Saturday, he ran for 119 yards and three touchdowns to help the Buffaloes beat Arizona 49-24 and move to 8-2 on the season. Lindsay has set career-highs in both rushing and receiving yards and should crack the 1,000-yard mark on the season over the next few weeks.

THE TWO-STAR

As a recruit: Jones received only one FBS offer as a high school prospect, via Connecticut after impressing then-coach Randy Edsall while playing wide receiver at an on-campus workout. He moved to defensive back in college and played all four years for the Huskies.

What he did this week: After going in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Jones is well on his way to becoming a star for the Dallas Cowboys. In the team’s win over Pittsburgh on Sunday, he led the team in tackles with 12 total. Jones is a classic diamond-in-the-rough tale.

TNE UNRANKED

As a recruit: Despite posting gaudy numbers and helping his team win a state championship as a senior, Jones saw little to no recruiting interest. Rather than play at a lower level, he elected to walk on with the Blue Devils despite the presence of several quarterbacks on the roster.

What he did this week: Jones stepped into the starting lineup this year after an injury to starter Thomas Sirk. This weekend, Jones helped guide the Blue Devils to a 28-27 upset victory over No. 17 North Carolina, throwing for 240 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 94 yards and two more scores. Duke head coach David Cutcliffe is known as a quarterback guru and Jones is just the latest example of his ability to develop players at the position.
