THE FIVE-STAR

As a recruit: Hood’s recruitment took several twists and turns, including an early commitment to Notre Dame and then a surprise de-commitment during his senior season. Shortly after backing off his pledge to the Irish, he committed to in-state school North Carolina and didn’t waver from that point forward.

What he did this week: Hood hasn’t seen as many carries as some thought he might after a breakout sophomore season in 2015, but this weekend he had his best game of the 2016 campaign. Despite getting just 12 carries he rumbled for 168 yards and three touchdowns in the Tar Heels' 48-20 victory over Georgia Tech. Hood doesn’t get the same amount of attention as some of other five-star running backs from the 2014 class, but he has had a very productive college career thus far.

THE FOUR-STAR

As a recruit: Barkley committed to Penn State nearly a year before Signing Day 2015 and stayed true to his in-state school with very little drama in his recruitment.

What he did this week: Barkley has been a consistent performer since stepping on campus in State College, and he had another big game on Saturday in the Nittany Lions’ 41-14 victory over Iowa. Barkley finished the game with 167 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries and eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season in the process. As a former Rivals250 recruit, Barkley has more than lived up to his ranking.

THE THREE-STAR

As a recruit: Morgan flew relatively under the radar in the state of Arkansas as a high school prospect, having to wait until late in the spring of his junior year to pick up an offer from Arkansas State and then-coach Gus Malzahn. Following an excellent senior season he picked up an offer from Arkansas and flipped to the Razorbacks shortly thereafter.

What he did this week: Morgan has been a consistent performer during his time in Fayetteville and on Saturday he continued a very productive senior season with a seven-catch, 95-yard performance in the Hawgs' 31-10 victory over Florida. Morgan has had at least one catch in 24 straight games.

THE TWO-STAR

As a recruit: Blankenship received several scholarship offers from FCS programs and had a few FBS opportunities at Army and UAB. Ultimately he elected to stay close to home at walk-on at Georgia.

What he did this week: Blankenship may not be paying his own way through school for long if he continues to perform like he did on Saturday. He was the hero in Georgia’s 27-24 victory over Kentucky, knocking in a game-winning 25-yard kick as time expired. Blankenship was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts in the game and is now 9-for-10 on the season.

THE UNRANKED: WR TAYLOR GABRIEL

As a recruit: As an all-state player in the state of Texas, plenty of schools looked at Gabriel, but despite visits to SMU, Texas Tech and TCU Gabriel never picked up a Power Five offer. He did have an offer from Utah State and Montana State, but ended up at FCS program Abilene Christian, where he finished second in school history in receptions.

What he did this week: Gabriel continues to be a productive NFL wide receiver after being an undrafted free agent in 2014. On Thursday night, Gabriel hauled in five passes for 52 yards and also had two carries for 24 yards and a touchdown. Gabriel is now over 1,000 career receiving yards in just two-and-a-half NFL seasons.
