FORT BEND, Tx. -- Miles Battle has been a familiar name in Texas recruiting for some time, and after a flurry of offers over the last few weeks has rekindled interest in him, he’s ready to make some moves.

He wasn’t about to give the full roster of teams due to be released in his upcoming Top 10 on May 30, but there are a couple of programs that he says fans shouldn’t be surprised to see when it drops. Three teams in particular - LSU, Oregon and TCU should be among those locked-in heading to the fall, where Battle says he will further break things down as his senior season unfolds.

On LSU, who he says many believe to be his favorite

“I’m like those that are still waiting to see what their offense is going to look like,” he said. “I want to see if during the season if they’re going to be using their receivers like they have during spring.”

“With the coaches I’ve gone in and looked over the plays and how they’re utilizing wide receivers,” he said. “They want to show me that they’re planning on using the receivers as much as the running backs.”

On his experience at LSU’s spring game

“It was cool even though it rained,” he said. “We just went over to the indoor facility. That was the third time that I was out there and they have been showing a lot of love down there and all the fans are cool.”

On Oregon, where he visited for the Ducks’ spring game with Rivals250 WR Jaylen Waddle

“That was a fun visit,” he said. “They’re always throwing the ball around, so that was good to see. I think they’re going to do something special this season with Coach (Willie) Taggart and what he’s got going on out there.”

“The coaching staff out there is really interested in us,” he said. “Me and Jaylen went up there together and that was a fun trip for us. The passing game coordinator, Coach (Marcus) Arroyo, he’s a really cool guy and was really enthusiastic about getting us up there and the facilities up there are second-to-none.”

On TCU

“They talk to me every week, actually, and they’re coming down for my spring game,” he said. “I just really like that pass-first offense and Josh Doctson – they say they see me being like him. I’ve looked up to him as a college player, so that was a good thing to hear.”

RIVALS REACTION

Other candidates possibly joining those three in his Top 10 include Baylor, Houston, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and maybe one or two from a couple of other SEC programs on his offer list. Battle’s obvious appeal as a wide receiver is his ability to climb the ladder for jump-balls coupled with his wide catch radius.

He’s not as consistently dangerous on those intermediate routes as he is if he gets behind his defender or when he’s in the red zone, but he’s big and talented enough that programs looking for that go-up-and-get-it target will be anxious to see if they made his Top 10 at the end of the month.
