4-star South Carolina commit to take officials

Four-star linebacker Sherrod Pittman of Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast has been committed to South Carolina for more than a year, committing to the Gamecocks in July of 2013. Though he is committed, he said he plans on taking his five officials visits.
The 6-foot, 215-pound Pittman will visit South Carolina, UCF, USC and Rutgers and is deciding between Alabama, LSU and Florida State.

When asked which of those schools is the biggest threat to South Carolina he said, "I don't know." When asked on a scale of 1-10, how strong his verbal commitment was to the Gamecocks, he said he was at a nine.
"I stand good with South Carolina," he said. "I always keep in contact with them every day. I call them on the phone, I message them on Twitter or Facebook - I keep in good contact."
Pittman plans on taking his official visit to South Carolina for the No. 9 Gamecocks' season opener on Thursday, Aug. 28 against No. 20 Texas A&M.
