4-star sets up first official visit

Terrence Mitchell and his teammates at Hillsborough High School got off to a good start this season with a nice 12-6 win over Bradenton Southeast last Friday. Mitchell, a four-star cornerback, got matched up with Jonathan Dowling of Southeast.
"Both defenses dominated," Mitchell said. "It was a tough game and we definitely need to work on some stuff. We had some mistakes offensively. I scored on a touchdown reception but it was called back because of a penalty.

"Defensively I played safety and got matched up with Dowling. He's tall and has good ball skills. But I did shut him down and had three pass breakups. He didn't catch a pass on me."
Mitchell will be matched up again with one of the Sunshine State's top junior receivers this Friday when they host Tampa Jefferson. This time he will go head to head with Andre Davis.
"Oh yea, we play Jefferson. I am really looking forward to going against Andre Davis. I like him. He's good and getting better."
Mitchell, 5-9 and 165 pounds, is one of the state's very best cornerback prospects. He always gets the assignment of their opponents top receiver so this is nothing new to him. And it doesn't matter when the opposition is small and quick or big and strong.
"I love matching up with bigger receivers because I have found they often depend on the jump ball. I can jump with anyone. I long jump 24-6 and I can vertical 36". I just play my technique, play my position and I come down with the ball."
In terms of recruiting, Mitchell had three favorites over the summer; Florida State, Georgia and South Florida. Where do things currently stand?
"There is nothing really new. I will (officially) visit Georgia for their game against LSU (10-2). I called FSU today but I didn't reach the coach. I will set up one (visit) to FSU soon. I hope to set up the rest. There are new teams in the mix now. I am starting to like Tennessee, Florida, Alabama and Ole Miss. Those teams showing me a lot more interest as well."
