IN HIS OWN WORDS…

“My parents were not able to make it for the first day because their flight got canceled, so I wanted to go back to give my parents a chance to see all that I had saw,” Turner-Muhammad said. “My family and I first got to watch Notre Dame's first spring practice. Then we got a tour throughout campus, met with academic counselors, and spent a lot of one on one time with each of the coaches whom, should I go to Notre Dame, I would be spending a bulk of my time with.

“I feel close to a lot of the coaches from Notre Dame,” he said. “Coach Lea, coach Joseph, and coach Lyght are the three that I have built a good and long relationship with. We talk a lot about football which I can talk about for days. We also talk a lot about things that are going on in the world now, and life after football which definitely sticks out to me.

“Michigan was great my family and I enjoyed ourselves a ton,” said Turner-Muhammad. “They are making big moves at Michigan to improve both athletic and academic performance. Everything is state of the art. The campus is beautiful. The coaching staff is filled with coaches who know what it takes to win because they have been successful in doing so. I have a good relationship with the coaching staff there as well.

“Coach Brown, coach Zordich, coach Lempa, and Coach Washington genuinely care about their student athletes succeeding on the field of course, but off the field as well,” he said. “Almost all of their defensive players get recognized as being All-BIG 10 conference teams and they have sent almost all of their defensive backs to play professionally. They stress the importance of the use of technique and understanding the playbook.

“My family and I enjoyed all of our visits.,” Turner-Muhammad said. “Notre Dame, Michigan, Wisconsin, Boston College, Wake Forest, Virginia, Maryland, Princeton, Harvard, Yale, and Rutgers are me recruiting me well. We saw some great schools and are in the process of narrowing down. I have been putting together a list and I will announce one shortly.”

RIVALS’ REACTION…

Turner-Muhammad has largely kept a low profile on the recruiting trail but this series of visits signals a milestone in his recruitment. Notre Dame and Michigan have been trending up for a long time with Turner-Muhammad it is seems like they’ve secured the top two spots. With the announcement of a short list forthcoming, don’t be surprised if a decision date isn’t far off in the distance.
