4-star running back Greg Garmon of Erie (Pa.) McDowell recently trimmed his list of schools down to five, which includes programs from the ACC, Big East and Big Ten. Next up for Garmon are visits to all five of these schools, before he hopes to make a decision this fall.
"I'm now down to my top five," said Garmon, who is 6-foot-2 and 195-pounds. "My top five are North Carolina, West Virginia, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan. The list may change, but right now those are my top five."
Garmon has not taken any recent visits, but will likely keep a busy schedule this summer.
"I'm going to see my top five at the end of the school year, because I'm still in track and I have states coming up," said Garmon.
While he has not taken any recent visits, Garmon has already had the opportunity to check out North Carolina and West Virginia. He shared a few thoughts about these two programs and why they made his top five list.
"At North Carolina the coaches just make me feel like I'm part of the family," said Garmon. "And at West Virginia, I like the new coaches and the running back coach and I have a good relationship."
Visits to Iowa, Illinois and Michigan are still coming, as well as return trips to North Carolina and West Virginia. Before he actually visits Iowa, Illinois and Michigan, Garmon shared a few thoughts about each of these programs too.
"I like Iowa because of what they are offering and what they did with Erie kids that went there," said Garmon. "With Illinois, my family is from down there and Coach Smith and I are really close. And with Michigan, I talk to the coaches almost everyday and they are talking about early playing time, so I really like that. We are starting to build a strong relationship."
Garmon did point out that his list could change in the coming months, but at this point he is hoping to make a final decision by the middle of his senior season.
