Four-star running back Jordan Cronkrite of Palmetto Bay (Fla.) Westminster Christian committed to Miami in April, but his process is far from over and he plans on taking official visits to South Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio State and Florida.
The 5-foot-11, 199-pound Cronkrite is still deciding on where he'll take his fifth official visit, but it won't be to the backyard school Miami.
"I've been there numerous times," he said. "But I'll definitely be going to some games."
As for the four schools he plans on taking official visits to, he said all have an equally realistic shot of reopening his recruiting process.
"I'm still committed," he said. "But I'm still keeping the other schools in the loop because you never know what's going to happen in the future. Wherever I go has to be a good fit for me to get to the next level because that's what my plan is."
Cronkrite hopes to finalize his recruiting process by the end of the season and here's what he had to say about each school:
Miami: "I talk to them pretty much on a daily basis. Coach Brown wants me to start to get familiar with coach Harris with the coaching change. I like that they're close to home, the coaches are familiar with me and they express how they want me at their school on an everyday basis."
South Carolina: "It's a great football school with a great tradition. They're great, education-wise From what I've seen, it's a beautiful campus in pictures so hopefully I can get up there to see it for my own eyes."
West Virginia: "It's very different than a lot of schools because of football - that's their No. 1 up there. That's all they have and the fans love football. The players - it's just a different environment up there."
Ohio State: "We'll have to see. It's a great tradition, just like South Carolina. They're very proven in the past and what not. I just have to go up there and see the campus for myself and see how the (running back) position plays out because they have so many people coming in."
Florida: "I've always liked that they're close to home and I'm very familiar with the coaches. I have to get up there and get some more face time with the coaches."
Cronkrite had 1,500 rushing yards, 250 receiving yards and 300 return yards with 17 total touchdowns last season.
