4-star QB Oden talks Louisville, Notre Dame
Because he went from unknown to four-star following the release of his junior season highlight film, some schools are waiting to watch Rivals250 Spring Hill (Tenn.) quarterback Tylin Oden throw in person before extending an offer.

But Louisville isn't one of them. It only took one look at the film for the Cardinals coaches to pull the trigger on an offer for the 6-foot-5, 180-pound prospect.
"Coach Klenakis came by my school and talked to me and my coach and then they sent me back to class," Oden said of a visit from the Cardinals last month. "I guess they had never seen my film before but then he and my coach sat down and watched it and they called me back and told me I have an offer."
The offer was Oden's second from an ACC school, and Oden said he was happy to add it to a list that includes Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.
"It was big," he said. "Each offer feels great to have but it was a great feeling to add a big one like that."
Oden is a dual-threat quarterback who continues to work on refining his game with private coaching. He said he knows that he'll be asked to a lot at the next level and he's intrigued by what the Cardinals scheme has to offer.
"They said the quarterback really has to know everything to play in their offense," Oden said. "Not only audible and stuff like that but I need to be able to read defensive fronts and make calls at the line. Coach Petrino is an offensive guru so I would have to be prepared for what he would throw at me."
In addition to the Cardinals, several other schools have stepped up their interest in Oden, including some of college football's heavy hitters.
"I think Mississippi State might be close to offering," Oden said. "They want me to visit campus and I know they want to watch me throw in the spring."
Oden is planning a busy list of throwing auditions, including Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Mississippi State. Oden lists the Irish as one of his favorites and he's hoping to make a trip to campus sometime soon.
"Whenever I want to come up I just need to let them know," Oden said. "Coach Elston came by and he was just telling me that they are very careful with quarterback offers so they want to see me throw and they want to see me in camp."
As a junior Oden had 1,947 yards of total offense, as well as 15 touchdowns passing and 13 touchdowns rushing.
