New Iberia, La. offensive guard Zhamal Thomas is planning to take his first official visit of the season this weekend to Ole Miss. The 6-foot-4, 335-pounder is looking forward to the trip and hopes to come away with a little more knowledge of the Rebels.
"I just want to go there and see what its like," he said. "I want to see how the coaches and players act and just talk to them and have a good time. I really like their program and I think they have a very good coaching staff including my recruiter Frank Wilson."
The four-star prospect has scheduled an official to Florida for January 13th.
"Florida's program stands out and is a real good one," he said. "I like them a lot and especially the coaches including head coach Meyer."
Meanwhile, Thomas has another official scheduled for next week (Dec. 9) to LSU and the Tigers have the home-state advantage, although the big man wants to keep an open mind on visits. He still hasn't worked out officials to Clemson and Arkansas but hopes to take both.
"I'm trying to get in touch with Clemson, but I can't find their number," he said. "I plan to take officials to them and Arkansas sometime in January."
