4-star Mustipher plans visits

Rivals250 four-star Sam Mustipher is a top junior prospect for many schools. The offensive lineman from Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel has more than ten offers and is focusing on planning some visits for the offseason.
"I'm going to head up to Notre Dame next weekend," said the 6-foot-4, 286-pound Mustipher. "I'm scheduling spring visits to Clemson, North Carolina and Michigan. I'll probably also head down to Maryland for a little bit also. Those are the ones for right now but I'm sure there'll be more during the summer.

"Michigan offered right before I headed away for Christmas break," he said. "That was a good one to get because I've waiting for that one for a while. The coaches just tell me to keep in touch, get down to the campus for a visit and see how I like it and to stay in touch with the players.
"Notre Dame, North Carolina and Stanford are also recruiting me but none of them have offered yet," said Mustipher. "We might rekindle the fire was Stanford. We talked a lot my freshman year. The recruiting coach at my high school says I should keep talking to them. I'm also getting a lot of handwritten letters from South Carolina's coaching staff. I've been in touch with Coach Mangus through Facebook."
Mustipher seems pretty excited for a few specific visits.
"I'm definitely looking forward to getting down to North Carolina and Clemson," he said. "My teammate Dorian O'Daniel just keeps telling me that if I get down to Clemson he knows I'll like it.
"At Michigan I've a really good relationship with (former U.S. Army All-American from Our Lady of Good Counsel) Blake Countess and his family," Mustipher said. "A lot of people say that I would really like North Carolina from academic standpoint plus it's one of the most beautiful campuses in the country I've heard."
Along with visits, Mustipher has a few camps in mind for the offseason.
"I'll probably do one of the Rivals camps during the spring and hopefully get invited to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge," he said. "I didn't come down to the U.S. Army National Combine because I wanted let my body heal up. Right now I'm trying to get stronger and get my weight up a little bit."
As for when Mustipher will make his decision, he is going to take his time to make the right choice.
"For me, it's still early on. A lot of guys are trying to commit early but I'm trying to wait for my decision," sadi Mustipher. "The coaching changes his offseason have been crazy and I'm not trying to put all of my eggs one basket and get left hanging. It's a situation where if I commit I don't want to end up de-committing. I want to be loyal to that school as a program and the fans. It's more of a loyalty thing for me and I don't want to end up making a mistake."
Last season, Our Lady of Good Counsel went 11-1 and won their conference title.
