When the dead period ended last month, four-star Palm Beach Gardens (Fla.) linebacker Tevon Coney's recruitment really began in earnest. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Coney picked up offers from plenty of schools, including his self-proclaimed "dream school" Florida.

But with so much happening in such a short period of time, Coney said he's taking it slow.
"Everybody is even right now," he said. "I'm open to recruiting and I'm just enjoying it right now."
Coney said the schools showing the most interest as of late include Miami, Tennessee, Ohio State and Clemson. Those programs along with Florida are all on his upcoming visit list.
"I'll get to Florida sometime soon," he said. "After that, probably Tennessee, Ohio State and Clemson. Those are the ones I'm thinking about right now."
When it comes to the things that might factor into his eventual decision, Coney said education is No. 1.
"They have to have a great engineering program," he said. "I have to be somewhere that I can stay four years and have a great relationship with the coaches and just get that good feeling about the program."
