Four-star defensive end Frank Herron of Memphis (Tenn.) Central released a top five Sunday, and said the college he ultimately picks will come from that group.
"My top five are LSU, Memphis, Clemson, Tennessee and Mississippi State," Herron told Rivals.com. "I picked those five because they have things that can help me in life. I feel like I can get to the next level and grow as a player. I feel comfortable with those programs."
Asked if the five were in any order, the 6-feet-5, 245-pound Herron replied, "Not really."

Here is what Herron likes about each:
LSU - "It's a beautiful campus. And I talk with Coach [Les] Miles and Coach [John] Chavis almost every day. They're always trying to get me to come down. I fell in love with it when I visited there - when I went there for their spring game."
Memphis -- "That's my hometown team, you've got to love them. Coach [Justin] Fuente is doing amazing things at Memphis. I can see a difference right now. The guys are working extra hard. It's like a new beginning. I used to go up once a week just to look at practice."
Clemson - "Coach [Marion] Hobby is a great guy. Me and him talk a lot, about other stuff besides football. He wants me to come down and give him a chance. I feel comfortable talking to Coach Hobby."
Tennessee - "Rocky Top, you know. A lot of people I talk to have great things to say about Tennessee. [Vols football player] Cameron Clear and [basketball player] Jarnell Stokes talk great about them. The [Vols] are always trying to get me to spend a weekend with them to get a feel for Tennessee. I felt comfortable when I went to the spring game. I could see myself playing there."
Mississippi State - "I've actually visited Mississippi State five or six times. I fell in love with it, and felt comfortable there. Really comfortable. My [basketball teammate] Andre Applewhite signed there. He'll be going there next year. I like it there a lot."
According to Herron, he has visited all of his leaders except Clemson.
"I'm going there the end of June," he said.
When might a final decision come?
"I have no idea right now," Herron said.
