4-star DB Kaleb Oliver will look around after Miss. St. coaching news

The Latest: Class of 2017 4-star defensive back Kaleb Oliver has been solidly committed to Mississippi State since the summer, but recent developments have lead him to take a second look at his recruitment. Oliver had no plans of visiting other programs or talking to other coaches but after Wednesday's news that defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon is Starkville to take the same position at Louisville, he's taking a fresh look at things. Rivals.com caught up with Oliver to discuss the news.

In His Words: "The news really took me by surprise. Coach Sirmon has been my recruiter and one of the main reasons I committed originally. I still love the fans and I'm still committed but with him gone I'm going to re-open my recruitment and hear what other coaches have to say. I'm supposed to take my official visit to Mississippi State Jan. 20 but I'll probably take some other visits too."

Rivals Reaction: Oliver had several schools vying for his commitment over the summer, including Louisville, Kentucky, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. The Cardinals will surly re-kindle their interest with Sirmon now on staff and once the dead period ends there will likely be plenty of new offers rolling in from Power Five programs.
