FORT BEND, Tx. -- Four-star Houston-area cornerback D’Shawn Jamison is keeping busy as the spring comes to a close and is planning on releasing his Top Five soon.

He released a Top 10 at the end of February, and he said out of that group, Missouri, TCU, Texas, and Penn State have been working to stay in the picture. Jamison currently plans to announce a Top Five on his birthday, June 4.

The expectation is that the Horned Frogs and Longhorns are leading the race for his commitment, but Jamison said the Nittany Lions staff has really turned up the attention it has been showing him as of late.

“They’re going hard on the DB class this year,” he said. “They’re coming at me a lot - they want me bad.”

Jamison also mentioned Oregon, who was not originally included in his Top 10, has also been trying to wiggle its way into the picture. Jamison picked up his offer from the Ducks on March 8.

IN HIS WORDS

On Texas

“They feel like I am the main piece to the Revolut18n,” he said. “That shows a lot in that they really want me, so I’m thinking about it.”

On Caden Sterns flipping from LSU to Texas

“I had no idea he was going to do that,” he said. “When he did that, that’s when he started coming at me, talking to me about UT and everything, so we’ve been talking about it.”

More on Penn State, and his relationship with PSU commits Isaiah Humphries and Trent Gordon

“I’ve been talking to Isaiah a lot,” he said. “With Trent, we’re just starting a relationship because at The Opening (regional) was when we first met each other. But we’ve been keeping in touch.”

RIVALS REACTION

Even though there wasn’t as much conversation about where things stand between Jamison and TCU, he said that things are still in a good place with the Horned Frogs.

“Things with them have been great,” he said. “We still have that strong relationship with Coach (Paul) Gonzales and Coach (Curtis) Luper.”

From the sounds of things TCU, Texas and Penn State seem bound for his Top 5, and if Missouri is making the most of its increased focus on him, the Tigers may be included as well. Otherwise teams like Florida, Michigan, Tennessee and USC are all in the picture and it will be interesting to see where they will fall in a few weeks as well.
