4-star Burt to announce Sunday

John Burt, a four-star wide receiver from Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln, has made up his mind where he wants to attend college and said he will make his announcement this Sunday at his grandparents house in Tallahassee.
His finalists are Texas, Florida State, Miami and Auburn.

"I've been mulling it over for a couple of weeks and I've pretty much decided at this point," the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Burt said. "As far as choosing Sunday, it's a reasonable date."
Burt said he would be making a visit to one of his schools next week but said he'd prefer not to say which one. With rumors swirling on social media about a visit to Texas, he replied, "no comment."
Burt said he talked with the Longhorns coaching staff yesterday and that's the school he's been in contact with the most.
"I've been in pretty good with them," Burt said. "I've been talking to the coaching staff for awhile and I'm feeling pretty confident they'll turn things around. I'm in constant contact with them."
Burt's relationship with Charlie Strong goes back to Strong's days at Louisville, a school that also offered Burt.
"Whenever we talk, we're just chilling and talking about whatever," Burt said. "As far as football, he told me I'd fit in his offense and there's a lot of things he'd do with me as far as getting me the ball."
In addition to Burt's relationship with the coaching staff, he has family in Austin with his grandmother and aunt living there.
"It's a good atmosphere," Burt said. "I'm pretty comfortable being there and I've been in Austin and been around Texas for awhile."
Of the other schools in the hunt, Auburn is the one he's most recently talked to and that was last week.
"I like what coach Dameyune Craig has to offer," he said. "They seem to be turning out good wide receivers there."
Another possibility is Florida State, but Burt admitted he hasn't talked with them since spring.
"I really like what they did last year with Jamies and getting all their playmakers the ball," Burt said. "And of course, they won the national championship. I've lived in Tallahassee pretty much my whole life and they've got a good school, nice facilities and all that jazz."
Burt last talked to the other Florida school in the mix, Miami, in the spring.
"They're kind of similar to Texas and Florida State with good coaches and facilities and everything."
As for Sunday, Burt said he's glad his day to announce has arrived.
"It's excitement, relief - everything," he said. "It's every kid's dream to play college football so to get that opportunity is very exciting."
