Corey Williams has long been a playmaker at wide receiver and has created more than his share of ‘wow’ moments in camps and 7-on-7 tournaments over the past couple of seasons.

This spring could be when all those moments start creating returns in the way of offers - evidenced as much by picking up his latest from Kansas after his performance in this past weekend’s The Opening Regional event in Houston. Williams had held an offer from UTSA, but said recently that the Roadrunners haven’t shown as much recent interest as he would have hoped.

That might change sooner than later.

“Man, it felt surreal - it was like a dream come true,” Williams said of the Jayhawks offer. “Coach (Justin) Johnson is my man and embraced me like family from the first time he came to see me earlier this spring.”

Williams hasn’t immediately set a date to make it up to Lawrence, but said that doing so is a top priority as spring continues.

“I can’t wait to go up there,” he said. “I’m excited to visit the facilities and get to meet the rest of the coaching staff and some of the players.”

RIVALS REACTION

Williams has been a bit of a hidden gem out of the Houston area and is as dynamic a prospect at the position as there is. He is poised for a breakout senior season, but should be catching a lot more attention from big programs looking for a quick and explosive slot receiver.
