THE LATEST

At the start of 2019, Class of 2020 three-star defensive back Jordyn Morgan was just waiting for an opportunity at the FBS level. Now, with several new offers pouring in over the past month, Morgan has his share of options at the Power Five level. One of the programs to join his list most recently was Missouri, and the Tigers have a unique connection to Morgan through a close friend currently on the team. Rivals.com caught up with Morgan at the Cam Newton Memorial Day 7-on-7 tournament to get the latest on his recruitment.

IN HIS WORDS

"I just got offered by Missouri a couple of days ago. I have offers from Iowa State, Cal and a few others and a lot of big schools just keep on rolling in. I'm talking to Texas Tech, Kansas State and a few others but no visits are being taken any time soon. I'm going to put my Top 10 out in the middle of the summer."

Missouri: "I talked to Coach Gibbs. One of my close friends, he goes there, he's a sophomore right now, Chris Mills, and he's just telling me how the coaches there are on top of everything so I really do like them and I like getting that offer. Coach Gibbs was at Texas Tech before and I think maybe he saw me when he was there and now that he's at Mizzou he offered me."

Relationship with the Mizzou coaches since offer: "I really do like Coach Gibbs because he's straight to the point and doesn't hold anything back. In my recruiting, I would rather you be honest with me than tell a lie."

Knowledge of the Tigers program: "I just keep thinking about playing in the SEC and knowing that you have to be a run-stopping defensive back. If you can do that and play the pass you can be a dominant defensive back in the SEC. They just had some guys drafted and that's big too."

Visit to Mizzou: "I'm not sure yet because a lot of big schools are still rolling in."

Summer visits/camps: I'm really focusing on getting my team built up and getting ready for my senior year. I don't think I'll be camping anywhere or anything like that because I'm just focusing on our team."
