3-star Simmons liking Kentucky, others

Three-star running back P.J. Simmons of Tallahassee (Fla.) Godby said he hopes to come to a decision on which school he wants to attend by midseason.
"I don't have a top five," said Simmons, who stands at 5-foot-9, 180 pounds. "My options are open and when the time comes, I'll know. But if I had to pick a couple of favorites to throw out there, it'd be Kentucky, Florida Atlantic and USF."

Simmons said he plans on visiting Kentucky for an official visit at some point during the season. It's his only planned official thus far.
"That's going to be a deciding factor," Simmons said of the visit.
Kentucky has been recruiting Simmons since the middle of last season. He's already visited four times, more than any other school.
"The support they give me is crazy," he said. "The coaches are so genuine, so real. Every time I go to visit I just feel loved. They're an up and coming and I feel like I could come in, fit in and play early - that's my biggest thing."
Florida Atlantic is another school that's impressed him.
"I talk to (Owls assistant Chris Hurd) almost every day," he said. "He really wants to get me on campus to see what it's like there and I told him I'd do that before the season."
USF assistant Ron Dugans is another recruiter hot on Simmons' trail.
"He's also from Tallahassee," Simmons said. "He loves me. I've been down there a couple of times and he's ready for me whenever I am and I said I'd keep my options open."
Simmons says he hasn't been talking to many schools lately because he's shifting his focus to his senior season. When the time to decide comes, he has factors in mind that will lead to his conclusion.
"Family, distance and how I feel when I'm there," Simmons said. "I want to feel comfortable because that's going to be my home for the next four years."
