3-star Pollard talks KU offer, UK visit

It's been a good month for three-star Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt county wide receiver Kiel Pollard. The 6-foot-1, 228-pound prospect added six offers, including his first from a Big 12 school courtesy of Kansas.
Pollard said the offer from the Jayhawks was a surprise, but a welcome one.

"I'm not really sure where it came from, I didn't even know they were interested," Pollard said. "My coach called me into the office and told me that they had offered and they wanted to talk to me. I had a chance to talk with Coach Likens and the offensive coordinator at my school is really good friends with him and he also knows my head coach really well."
Pollard said he's still learning about the Jayhawks, but is hoping to get a first-hand look at the school soon.
"I'm really not sure what to think because I don't know that much about them," Pollard said. "I'm going to take a trip up there soon so I can see things for myself."
Last week Pollard visited several schools, including Kentucky. While he didn't leave Lexington with an offer, he said he still thinks one could be on the way.
"The visit went well and I think an offer would be great," Pollard said. "One of my teammates just signed there in February and it would be great to have that as an option. He's doing a little recruiting on his own and telling me why I should go there. It's an SEC school and I'm hoping to get a shot at playing in the SEC."
