DALLAS, Tx. -- Bishop Dunne offensive tackle Kievan Myers’ recently announced Top 15 probably didn’t surprise many when compared to the programs he’s choosing to move on from.

That said, it’s going to be an interesting battle for him from this point forward. Without listing all the teams in the hunt for the massive three-star recruit, he said that he feels showed him the most interest through the spring were Colorado, Illinois, Texas Tech and Utah.

Myers still has a long way to go when it comes to familiarizing himself with all of those teams, but as the summer begins, he’ll likely find a way to make a few visits.

On Colorado

“At Bishop Dunne, all we do is keep up the pace on offense, so I’m used to wanting to go like they do in the Pac-12,” he said. “The coaches have just been telling me it’s a good time up there. They let the players do what they want but they have limitations.”

On illinois

“Coach (Luke) Butkus is a great guy,” he said. “I can’t even put into words - when I talk to him, it feels like I’m at home so he’s just a great person to talk to.”

On Texas Tech

“I love up-tempo offense,” he said. “A big part of that is what they’re building is on the offensive line, so I feel like I can come in there and contribute.”

“I have been learning quite a few things [about the program] from Coach Brandon (Jones),” he said. “I know a little bit, but I don’t know that much. I think I probably want to get out there this summer.”

On Utah

“They have told me that I could come in and contribute right away,” he said. “They would move me around on the line because I can play every position and they just think I’m a good fit for them.”

RIVALS REACTION

For a player with so many offers, Myers doesn’t seem to have quite latched on to anyone very tightly yet. At his spring game he said he wasn’t planning on releasing a Top 12 until the end of the season, but he recently released his Top 15 on his grandmother’s birthday.

Myers is a powerful offensive tackle that should be on the minds of all the programs discussed, but it looks like there is still plenty of opportunity for someone to step in and take charge in his recruitment. In the meantime, he said that Butkus and Jones have been the coaches he’s clicked best with so far.
