3-star LB Belton sets Missouri official visit

With plenty of interest from lower level FBS programs and several FCS offers, three-star Blythewood (S.C.) linebacker Hassan Belton already has options. But after new interest from SEC school Missouri, Belton has changed his visit schedule in order to get a closer look at the Tigers.
"I talked to the defensive line coach today and they like me a lot," the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Belton said. "They want me to come up on an official and I'm going to do that. I'm planning on visiting Jan. 23."

Belton helped his stock with a strong showing at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, where he won defensive MVP honors. He has a grayshirt offer from East Carolina, but said Mizzou is in need of linebackers and he thinks he can fill the void.
"They told me they want to bring in two linebackers but they don't have any committed right now," Belton said. "Since I'm interested they want me to come up and even though they haven't offered they are interested."
Belton said it's a little unusual to take the trip without an offer in hand, but he's willing to roll the dice.
"They want to see me in person before they offer," he said. "I'm not worred about that, though, I've gained about 10 pounds and I'm at a consistent 215 pounds and I think I have the size to play linebacker."
In the Shrine Bowl Belton recorded 14 tackles, more than double all but one other player in the entire event.
