The Latest: Class of 2017 three-star defensive lineman Ellison Hubbard has held Minnesota in high regard for quite sometime, but when Gophers assistant coach Brian Anderson showed up for Hubbard's game last Friday night, it really helped the school separate from the pack. Hubbard has officially scheduled an official visit to Minnesota for early next month and Rivals.com caught up with him to get his plans as well as his thoughts on the Gophers.

In His Words: "It means a lot that they would have a coach come down here just to see me on their bye week. They are a school I have liked for a while and for them to come down and watch me play so they can make sure that I'm a great player that they want means a lot to me. I plan to visit there Oct. 8 when they play Iowa. We've already made plans for it to be an official visit so I'll be up there to watch that game. I'm bring my mom and my dad and my sister so all of them can check it out and hopefully that's the right place for me. I need to get that family feel and I need them to treat me and my family like I'm part of it. There's a major possibility I commit on that trip if everything goes well."

Rivals Reaction: Usually recruits try to keep their decision under wraps until the last moment, but it's clear that Minnesota has emerged as the team to beat when it comes to Hubbard. Assuming all goes well on the trip and his family is on board, look for him to be on the school's commit list sooner rather than later.
