3-Star DE leaves door barely open
Dan Santucci, Chicago St. Patrick's 6-foot-4, 250 pound defensive end hasn't talked with new Notre Dame coach George O'Leary yet, but he still considers himself a solid commitment to the Irish.
"I don't know much him yet, other than he's a good coach. I'm eager to meet him," Santucci said. "I still think that I am definitely going to Notre Dame."

"The only possible thing that could change my mind would be if Coach Mattison is not retained and something would go drastically wrong when I met the new coaching staff. I've grown real close to Coach Mattison and I'd really like him to be a part of the new staff."
"If that were to happen, then I might look around a bit. But right now I just don't see that happening."
He was considering and hearing from Northwestern, Nebraska and Purdue and those would be the teams that he could be interested in or maybe somebody else if things don't fall into place properly for him with the changes at Notre Dame.
